Andrew Savage VP & founding team from the popular micro-mobility company Lime has reassured riders that the company’s e-bikes are thriving on the streets of Paris despite the recent ban of all e-scooters in the French capital.
Savage addressed the trend at the MOVE America conference in Austin Texas, assuring that the ban has not slowed down the company’s e-mobility market in Europe despite expectations. Due to the removal of e-scooters, e-bikes are now taking off in the city and filling the micro-mobility gap for pedestrians.
At the conference, Savage also hosted his own talk “Making micro-mobility sustainable and profitable”. He claims that many businesses believe in sustainability not being wholly compatible with profitability, but Savage disagrees.
In this full interview, Savage details how Lime is attempting to make a congruence between sustainability and profitability in order to better the micro-mobility market whilst still continuing to thrive as a business.

Vito Giallorenzo, SVP GM of corporate development at BlackBerry QNX, chatted with MOVEMNT about the future potential of the software-defined vehicle (SDV) – hinting that it might be far greater than we expect.
Giallorenzo carries on John Wall’s analogy of BlackBerry QNX being the plumbers of the SDV, and even goes a step further. He compares the potential future of the SDV to the journey of the mobile phone – stating that it will surprise many people in how far the technology could go, like the smartphone has.
He said: “The car is very similar to the phone in that they are both connected moving object that can create a lot of value from the signal and personal data it contains.”
Watch the full conversation where Giallorenzo also explains how the IVY platform and BlackBerry QNX fit together to bolster the SDV’s architecture.

The Autonomous Vehicle (AV) industry is moving quickly, but what are some of the barriers in its way? MOVE recently spoke with Chess Stretson, CEO of dRISK, who has identified a big barrier to AV safety and, even better, provided a solution to it using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
dRISK is a start-up company that are testing and training AVs to be safer and respond to high-risk events that it detects in advance. Using countless tricky or hazardous vehicle scenarios – which are individually unlikely, but together make up all the risk on the road – dRISK is training their software to make autonomous driving smoother and safer.
Using an unprecedented scale and variety of data and patented AI, dRISK has assembled and mapped out out the whole space of edge cases into a knowledge graph of scenarios (like Google’s knowledge graph of the internet, but in this case, of the real world).
If you would like to meet and talk with dRISK come and join them at our MOVE 2023 event in London next week or at MOVE AMERICA 2023 in Austin, TX in September. We’ll see you there!
