Saudi Arabia’s capital city Riyadh is undergoing a smart traffic management and mobility project in order to advance the area’s status as a smart city.

King Abdullah Financial District Development and Management Company (KAFD DMC) and the Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI) have partnered up to make this project possible.

This project is part of KAFD’s overarching smart city strategy, which seeks to manage key infrastructures and enhance operations within the area.

The smart city project for Riyadh is intended to set the foundation for other city’s that may take the same route, forming a blueprint for the nation’s future smart cities.

Saudi Arabia already has smart city hub NEOM which recently invested $100 million to enhance the use of autonomous vehicles in the Middle East.
