Nils Jaeger, President of Volvo Autonomous Solutions, gave an exclusive interview to MOVEMNT, to discuss autonomous trucking advancements.

Fresh from his MOVE 2024 panel “Autonomous Now,” Jaeger shared insights on Volvo’s focus on developing autonomous technology for trucks and buses to improve safety, sustainability, and efficiency.

He emphasised the importance of autonomous technology in reducing injuries and fatalities in the quarry and mining industries.

“It’s very important to bring in autonomous technology to remove humans from hazardous environments,” said Jaeger.

The President also mentioned Volvo’s recent launch of a production-ready autonomous truck for highways and outlined next steps, including collaboration with self-driving vehicle tech company, Aurora.
