BYD has announced that it will be launching a new “professional and personal’ electric car brand in 2023.

The new brand will be an addition to Yangwang, a premium brand set to launch in the first quarter of 2023 that it announced last month.

BYD made the full transition to electric and hybrid vehicles this year and has been able to capatilise on a range of incentives for electric cars offered by cental and local governments.

The company has also been able to sell its vehicles on global markets, in Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Brazil, Costa Rica, and Columbia.

The automaker has said that it has sold cars to 35 countries outside China since it started exporting to Norway last May.

BYD was the top selling car brand in China for the first four weeks of November, which meant it had outperformed Volkswagen.
