Mini have released the first ever MINI Electric Convertible. The new vehicle comes in either White Silver or Enigmatic Black exterior and has the same feel-good features as the original MINI design. Both designs will feature bronze accents and the MINI Yours electric soft top.
The new car features lots of new technological features. The car features a new navigation system called MINI Connected Navigation, a new MINI Parking Assistant which can aid drivers with maneuvers and MINI High Beam Assist to automatically adjust your lights into oncoming traffic.
The car also features heated wheels and seats, and MINI Comfort Access will allow you to get access to your car without your keys.
The pricing for the vehicle starts at £52,500 and only 150 are available in the UK and 999 worldwide. The electric convertible has a range of 124 miles and will charge to 80% in roughly an hour. The car produces 184 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque.
The car has not got rid of its popular suspension system, giving it a ‘go-cart-like’ feeling that allows it to rip through corners.
“Three years ago, we launched the MINI Electric, and today one in five MINI models sold in Europe is an all-electric MINI,” says Stefanie Wurst, Head of the MINI Brand. “This success has spurred us to implement the small series of the MINI Electric Convertible within only a few months. I’m delighted that we can offer 999 MINI customers an extraordinary and exclusive open-air go-kart feeling.”
MINI has not revealed as to whether the vehicle would stay in the North American or Asian market in the future, however, the launch shows that the market is still wanting fun, small vehicles.
