General Motors and Hyundai’s strategic partnership promises five new vehicles by 2028

U.S. company, General Motors, and South Korean automotive giant, Hyundai, are forging a partnership that promises to deliver five new vehicles by 2028.

The five vehicles will focus on Central and South American markets, providing two pick-ups and a compact crossover. For North American markets, the partners are planning to co-develop an electric commercial van.

Ford shifts to smaller, more affordable EVs in the face of Chinese competition

All aboard Amtrak’s NextGen Acela trains

Andy Byford, known affectionately as “Train Daddy”, is helping to spearhead a campaign that connects Washington, Boston and New York by high-speed rail. Amtrak’s newest generation of trains launches later this month, promising, “a first-class travel experience for every passenger.” The news trains will reach a maximum speed of 160 miles per hour and offer 27% more capacity than current models. Amtrak promises five trains in its initial launch and intends to roll out 28 new services by 2027. Read more

DHL Supply Chain has announced a £550 million investment to boost growth in the UK. The investment will fund the acceleration of warehouse automation, deploying over 1,000 new robots to work collaboratively alongside staff in the UK and Ireland. The move is part of DHL’s broader strategy to scale up operations in the UK and Ireland, relying on increased digitalisation and automation to boost growth. Read more
