It looks like Microsoft’s search engine, Bing, will be getting a huge upgrade as many have spotted that a “new Bing” interface using AI chatbot ChatGPT appeared and then abruptly vanished.

It had been reported earlier that Microsoft was interested in capitalizing on the tool’s massive popularity and impressive intelligence.

What users may have been able to see was a first glimpse of the Chat GPT experience that went live by mistake.

Users have taken to twitter to show how their search engine bar was replaced by a large text box inviting you to “ask it anything” in 1000 characters or less but the old Bing search bar was still availability.

ChatGPT’s new abilities make it possible for the “new Bing” to get creative. One user noted that Bing will be able to make meal plans or navigate budget restrictions in a travel itinerary. It will also be able to write a poem or lyrics.

The new Bing can also apparently cite its sources as well. This is an important feature, as the inability of language models like ChatGPT to describe where their information is sourced from makes them less reliable, reported the Verge.

One user highlighted that ChatGPT said the new feature will be able to answer peoples search engine in a conversational way.

It is reported that Microsoft has plans to officially unveil the new and improved Bing in the coming weeks.
