Apple Maps have launched a new parking feature that will provide users with parking options and availability near a specific destination.

Apple Maps have partnered with SpotHero to ensure that users across the U.S and Canada can now get parking information for over 8,000 locations.

The new feature launched late last week, and iPhone and Mac users can search for a destination in the Apple Maps app and then select “More” and “Parking”. They will then be directed to the SpotHero website without leaving Apple Maps.

The parking platform has stated that users are able to search for nearby parking and reserve a space using SpotHero’s secure payment options.

SpotHero also allows users to filter their search by date and time as well as parking spots with EV charging, wheelchair accessibility, valet services and more.

Integrating SpotHero into Apple Maps is a huge step for the company and for the multibillion-dollar parking industry.

Less than 2% of the parking industry is digitalised and therefore, it is important that major tech companies incorporate parking technology into their apps.
