Vietnamese automotive company VinFast has officially announced the launch of its new EC Van electric cargo vehicle, designed for small-load transportation.

The 600kg cargo vehicle comes in a compact size and is intended for short-distance delivery needs of businesses, while also serving as a livelihood vehicle suitable for household economies.

The VinFast EC Van (short for electric city cargo van) includes a two-seat cabin and a rear cargo space with a capacity of up to 2,600 liters.

The EC Van is equipped with an electric motor delivering a maximum power of 30 kW and peak torque of 110 Nm, with a top speed of 75 km/h. Its 17 kWh usable battery capacity provides a driving range of 150 km per full charge.

The vehicle supports DC fast charging at up to 19.4 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in just 42 minutes. Customers may also purchase a 3 kW portable charger for overnight home charging.

The VinFast EC Van is priced at VND 285 million (approximately $11,000 USD) and will begin accepting early deposits for the EC Van from 8:00 AM on May 25 through May 30, 2025.
