The Metropolis of Warsaw, Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Clear Air Fund are partnering to enhance air quality within the Polish capital.  

As of now, air quality in Warsaw exceeds EU air pollution limits and the World Well-being Organisation pointers. It is estimated that if Warsaw met WHO pointers, an estimated 1,500 deaths could be prevented each year. Breathe Warsaw is aligned with the EU’s ambition to cut back deaths by 55 percent by 2030, as stated in its Zero Air pollution Motion Plan. 

Rafal Trzaskowski, Mayor of Warsaw has said: “Warsaw just isn’t afraid to face its challenges and the struggle towards air pollution is unquestionably one of them. We’re becoming a member of a bold mission that can strengthen our present efforts to enhance air quality within the metropolis, to struggle local weather changes and enhance the wellbeing of our residents.”

The partnership builds on its previous collaborations with Brussels, Paris, Milan, London, Jakarta, and different governments throughout Europe and the world to enhance air pollution control. 

Breathe Warsaw will use this community and its information to develop high air quality databases and to spot higher air pollution and will use this information for data-driven results.
